I’m a huge fan of scenting your home, so when Smellacloud got in touch to ask whether I would like to try their smellacoud aroma diffuser, I was all for it!

In the quest to get our home smelling fresh and welcoming, I’ve tried all sorts of different products. From oud, to candles, reed diffusers and plug ins, but I hadn’t yet tried an electric aroma diffuser. At least not one of my own. Elodie, my daughter, has one in her room that we use as a way of getting her to go off to sleep happily (don’t ask me how or why, but it works)!

My first impressions of the smellacloud diffuser were that I love the design! In comparison to the one my daughter has, which is very basic, this fits in much better with my interiors! It looks more like an ornament than a diffuser.

The first scent I tried was smellacloud patchouli oil to go with my diffuser and it smells amazing! Strong enough to fill a room, but not enough to be overpowering or to give me a headache!

The diffuser has three different settings, meaning you can set it to run for different length intervals, which is really handy as you don’t need to worry about forgetting to turn it off!

In terms of ease of use, it couldn’t be simpler to set up. All you need to do is remove the top white cover, use the small plastic jug to fill with water, add a few drops of essential oils, replace the top, plug in and switch on. The diffuser then bubbles away quietly releasing a lovely smell around the room.

Smellacloud have a fantastic range of scented oils to go with their diffuser range. I chose patchouli and cedarwood because I love rich earthy scents and these did not disappoint. The scents spread well across the room without feeling overpowering and smell much more refined than other generic plug in scents I’ve tried in the past.

One of the great things about using an oil based oil diffuser is that you can tailor the strength of the scent to your taste. If you’re particularly sensitive to strong smells, add just a couple of drops, or if you want a scent that packs a punch, add a little more!

Overall, I’m really impressed and can’t wait to add to my scent collection for different occasions. I thought a lavender or geranium scent could be great for creating a calming atmosphere before bed!
