Procrastination is something most, if not all of us suffer with at some point. Personally, I experience it A LOT and I really do hate it. It makes me feel lazy, unproductive and like I’m going round in circles.
When it comes to procrastination, we probably all have our own reasons for indulging in it. It could be because we don’t know how to get started on the bigger tasks, fear of the unknown, or even just because we’re running low on motivation. Either way, it’s a sure fire way of letting obstacles get in the way of our goals.
As I’ve been busy indulging in a bit of procrastination myself these last few weeks, I thought I would put together a list of the best quotes I could find on the internet to help us beat procrastination into submission.
1.
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”
2.
“Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.”
3.
“Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.”
4.
“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”
5.
“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
6.
“How soon ‘not now’ becomes ‘never.”
7.
“Starve your distractions. Feed your focus.”
8.
“The fact you aren’t where you want to be should be enough motivation.”
9.
“Even if you’re on the right track – you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”
10.
“A year from now, you will wish you started today.”
11.
“Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start getting excited about what could go right.”
12.
“What you do today could improve all of your tomorrows.”
13.
“You are what you do. Not what you say you’ll do.”
And if all the motivating quotes of the internet fail you, then take a leaf out of Jessica Rose Williams’ book and write a done-list, instead of a to do list! Far more motivating than a list of chores you’ve yet to tackle.
Very inspirational, I am so stuck in a rut with things at the moment and this is just what I needed x

I am a little bit too, but desperately trying to get my act together. If you fancy a motivational read, I really recommend a book called ‘Eat That Frog!: Get More of the Important Stuff Done’ – I’m trying to use it to retain my procrastinating brain!! xx
I know the factors to getting important things done are never perfect but l let it hold me back anyhow. I need to get on with getting things done.
